Is My Divorce Lawyer A Prick?
I filed for divorce in January . My lawyer asked to be paid in advance, I did. He told me my case was simple and straight forward and I should have my official divorce papers in June. There was no contest to the divorce, my ex and I did a legal seperation years ago and this was just the last step.
Anyway, after June I started calling my lawyer and asking updates. His usual answer was: Let me call the court and see where it’s at. He’d call me back and say: Yep it’s all good just delayed by vacations and holidays. No big deal.
Here we are in December, he won’t return my numerous calls and I’m starting to get impatient. I called the court house myself and was told my divorce papers were filed in NOVEMBER 2009!!!
I was so mad I left a nasty message, cause he won’t pick up when I call, and I told him he better get his act together or I’m calling IRS and report him for tax evation!!! ( I paid him in full in January and he never game me a receipt or invoice for that money, even though I asked several times)
I’m mad! I can’t calm down!

You have to do what my ex wife did, she had sex with him. After that, he was on her speed dial, I think she must have also done the judge, because I was the one that ended up getting screwed.
Contact the lawyers Board of Professional Responsibility for your state, if you wish to file a complaint.

I would turn his dumb behind in, there should be a board of Lawyers in your town that handle problems like this. I wouldn’t let him off the hook. I would call him one more time telling him that if you don’t hear from him in a day that you are turning him in.
