Christian Divorce Rate

Divorce rate among Christians have dramatically increased in the last decade. Research had shown that couples who has church affiliation are 35% less likely to divorce as compared to those who have none. The increase in Christian divorce rate can be attributed to the fact that not all Christians are practicing believers. It is possible that you are married to a nominal Christian whose faith is not as rooted as yours. With this, divorce rate has gone up considerably. But for those couple whose faith are firmly rooted in Christ, they are less likely to end their marriage.

No matter what religion one may embrace, weddings are one of the occasion that people tend to uphold the most. And I do believe that your wedding is the grandest and most well-celebrated of all, no matter what others may say. But unless you and your spouse embraces Christ as the center of your marriage, then surely you will belong to that 38% who ends up in a divorce.  It has also been known that conservative Christians has a 20% chance of divorcing their spouse.

Christian divorce rate is very different from the general public. With the general public, it is believe that age or maturity has to do with commitment and stability of the marriage. This means that as one gets married later in life, there is a higher chance that they will stay married until one passes away. With the general public, it is also stated that after 8 years of marriage, they will end up in divorce. But this is not true with true Christians. Due to their fear of God, they uphold the vow they made before God and men. And this is the reason why Christian divorce rate is lesser than the general public.

If you are married, and are thinking of divorcing your spouse, we highly recommend that you pick up your phone and call us. I truly hope that you will never belong to that 38% who ended up in a divorce.
